The chess matches of the 26th Universiade to be held in 2011

Meihua Hall, 5th floor of Convention and Exhibition Center

men's individual competition ,womenย’s individual competition,and mixed team competition

4. Competition introduction:

The game is played on a square chessboard with 64 squares arranged in an eight-by-eight square. The
dark yellow check is calledย”black checkย”,and the light yellow check is called ย‘white
checkย’，the chess is moved inside these checks by players. Thereย’re thirty-two chesses, ,
each player (one controlling the white pieces, the other controlling the black pieces) controls
sixteen pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns.

In the official competition, the tridimensional pieces are used in playing chess
