การแข่งขันโชกิคัดเลือกตัวแทนประเทศ ไปแข่งขัน World Shogi Tournament ที่สหรัฐอเมริกา
There will be a World Shogi Tournament in New York in 13-15 November this year (see more detail at http://www.worldshogi.com/) and we will organize an preliminary tournament to select a representative player from Thailand to participate in NY.
Our tentative date for the preliminary is Sunday, July 19 at the Japanese Association. The tournament format has not been confirmed, but tentatively proposed two groups in Swiss selecting the best 2 players in each group and have final tournaments among 4 players.
According to the organizer in NY, they will cover the accommodation for 3 nights and support partially the air tickets for BKK-NY (don't know the amount yet). However, as the living cost in NY is quite high and the air tickets may not be fully paid, even the representative player is selected,he may decline the offer to go and in that case the following second or third place players get to go if he agrees. Thus, there will may be a chance for any one of the best players to go to NY.
